License classifications
California licenses contractors by trade. A contractor may only contract for work their classification covers — a C-36 plumber cannot legally take on your electrical, and a B general contractor needs at least two unrelated trades on a job to use their license. Each classification below lists every city with enough licensed contractors to compare.
